1. Blocked stormwater drains
Stormwater drains carry rainwater away from your home to the street or a designated outlet. If they're blocked with leaves, dirt or debris, water backs up and pools around the house. 2. Blocked or overflowing gutters and downpipes
If gutters and downpipes are blocked, water overflows the gutter edges and runs down the walls, pooling at the base of the house. Over time this can damage fascias, eaves and foundations. 3. Poor site drainage
If the ground around your home slopes towards the house rather than away, surface water flows towards the foundations.
